Early Drab
The United States would become the dominant air power of the world after WWII, and that future was foretold in 1940 with the introduction of the North American P-51 Mustang. This work draws inspiration from the first variants of that aircraft. Painted in the omnipresent olive drab of the time and displaying an early U.S. aircraft insignia in blue and white, this aircraft panel replica transports a viewer to the early days when the U.S. entered WWII and the future was not so certain.
